I don't want to spoil too much for those that don't play the beta, but definitely more challenging than the west road :D

I did have a lot of trouble with the wererats, but the bigger version that's lurking in there was quite easy... Odd

I will replay from the beginning later this week.

I know you mentioned in the first post that only the first two dungeons are complete, but I'd recommend that the south road is not accessible for now... Right now it is a one way trip for your party and game over.

And the one battle that exists in the south is quite difficult.

Yes, I forgot to disable the south road, which is still in development.

I think it's Troglodytes. Well it's only part of encounter, and it is designed for level 6.

And yes south road is MUCH tougher))

    Did you
take the hint and buy the silver weapons on offer all over Sumberton?

I should doubtless include less meta hints - and intended to, too :) Wererats in Sumberton itself is an issue according to the module.

not just plain trogs, they were trog-barbarians that were 'roided out... they like to eat my characters for breakfast, lunch and dinner... and dessert, too [IMG] [IMG][IMG]

    6th level?

huh, my guys aren't even close 6th level.

    XP=10,770
I have 3 standard races that are at 5th level, one tiefling at 4th, and one svirfneblin thief at 2 level.

may need to stay away from exotic races so they will all level up the same, but that one battle in the South Road was quite tough when i stumbled upon it.

if the South Road will all be as tough then I need to rethink my strategy.

But why is my XP lacking so much if it should be a 6th level encounter?

    I did not

Even after a reload, i avoided that particular battle and then I found more later, so I just pounded them out.

The Armory dungeon is designed for 5,6,7 level characters. Finishing all monsters in 1st and 2nd dungeon should bring 4 PC party to 5th level easily. If 5 then they will have new level after few first encounters in the Armory.

Due to my mistake you have stumbled upon debugging process, where I disable all other encounters aside of one which I'm working on. And PCs are teleported right on before the doors of this encounter. It's encounter A8. So before that there are 7 different encounters, which will bring 4 PC party up to level 6.

Currently I'm working on giving them Stench DC 17 (50% chance realistically) of having Sickened condition on 10 rounds. Plus additional baddies))

And before that there was insanely tough battle with dude who has Spell Resistance and is quite annoying))

I was hoping that this was the case.

    I figured as much.

I found where the exit/entrance door should be (but that isn't working either - so my guys were stuck in there).

Since this encounter is really far away from the door, I figured that there would be a fair number of encounters before I reached these three trogs.

@FDR4PREZ what PC have you created, how developed them, equipped them before Armory? What would you change / improve in your party?

@anatoliy I forget how, but I can post some of my saved games for you

    human cleric
    human fighter
    svirfneblin rogue
    tiefling wizard
    dwarf barbarian

I do cheat a little in the starting shop map to get some extra gold, but once I start the game I never craft weapons or items...yes, this means I do not create potions and scrolls. I have never done this in T0EE or KoTB or IWD. Yes, this means I may have to rest more and maybe reload more often than others, but I don't like making uber-equipped characters that just walk thru a dungeon.

For this game, so far, I've not purchased many items from vendors (mainly arrows and bullets), so I am just using whatever items I've looted from my adventures.

It seems like i will need to go shopping before my southern adventures, and I may start making some healing items for this game.

'Armory' is the South Road, btw.

I'm not much of a crafter myself, so I tend to stock the vendors for people who aren't crafting. Did you steal the wand of CLW before starting out? That makes a difference, mine lasted clean through most of the Temple (the North Road).

Thanks, I know - from what I've seen so far it will be the toughest location, so time to go shopping before we head that direction

    Thanks for that

My party alignment is NG, so I opted not to steal it for this go-round...

Although I did break in there just to use that location to store some items.

There is no player storage anywhere that I could find

Well, there is the option of buying a cheap wand too ;)

But yes, storage is something I forgot about, I'll add some chests to the taverns upper rooms.

In Baldur's Gate 1 - if you fight and kill the ankheg, you can take the shell to the armorer and he will make you some pretty spiffy armor with it.

    https://baldursgate.fandom.com/wiki/Ankheg_Plate_Mail

could something like this be added for this module with the ankheg in the lab?

There is nothing of such sort in Official Rules, so I think not. There are plenty of usual armor in the module. So although idea is interesting - quest-wise, the benefit would be underwhelming.
