At 4th level as a Fighter you could just be getting weapon specialization- how is your Barb/Fighter set up-1/3, 2/2, 3/1? I really don't dual class characters so I'm not really sure where things such as your BAB would be at 4th-5th level. I can say that you should click on the blue stat icon and see what the results of your attack rolls are- it should show things like weapon focus bonuses, weapon specialization, racial bonuses to weapons, spell bonuses, negative stats (and what caused them, any immunity the creature you're attacking might have, etc. I do know that your Dexterity and armor can have a large effect on your attacks, as well as whether or not you're flanking your foes, whether they are blinded, asleep, webbed, standing in a puddle of grease, prone, entangled, etc.

Also, what kind of feats have you taken with your character? And can you list his/her stats as well?

OK, so what's your character's Strength and Dexterity? They both play a part in whether you hit or not, as does armor encumbrance (not sure if the fighter part overrides the barbarian's penalty to wearing heavy armor). Also, if you are constantly raging as a barbarian, you're going to suffer penalties to hit when they rage wears off...

Clicking on the small dice icon in the lower right will open a window to show what you are rolling and what bonuses or penalties are affecting your ability to hit.

A lot of folks, (me included) have had games where we just plain get bad rolls almost every time we attack.

When I play with my friends in our PnP campaign I've been known to completely switch out my dice in hopes of ending a bad night of weak rolls.

Good. As an example I'll use my 11th level Paladin (I'm in the Earth Node right now fighting the vrock guardian). Her attack roll showed this (actually the numbers come first- I just put it like this to make it easier to read):

    Attack bonus:
    Class- +11
    Strength- +7
    Feat- +1
    (weapon) enhancement- +1
    Haste- +1
    Prayer- +1

Her actual to hit roll was 5 but because of all her attack bonuses she hit AC 27- she'll still miss some but this is what you're looking for...

But no matter how good your bonuses are, if you roll a 1 you miss and no matter how high your armor class is if they roll a 20, (as they do often ;) ) they hit.

The numbers you've shown are your "to hit" you have another set for damage. Look just below where these numbers were shown and you'll see how much damage you did, click on it and it wil give you your damage roll.

Something to remember, even a barbarian with 18 STR wielding a great axe will still only do 5 to 16 damage depending on how well you rolled on your 12 sided die for damage. Great axe damage equals 1d12+STR modifier.

There are feats you can take to increase your damage and magical weapons do extra magical damage.

As you gain Fighter levels you can take Weapon Specialization, which increases damage, and later Improved Critical, which doubles the critical range of your weapon, allowing for somewhat greater chances to cause critical damage. Be aware though that some enemies will have damage reduction or even immunities to certain attacks or character alignments. For example, some of the guardians in the nodes are immune to electricity and get a -10 damage taken from the attacks of good aligned parties...

2: is there any good battle axes that can help my character or am i better off rerolling with super high str?
