Hello everybody. Im new in Toee. I have to say that the visuals in this game are just beautiful. 1)Whats the difference with New Content and Standard version? 2)I play druid and from time to time my summons bug and are not willing to attack. Is this happening only to me?
Hi Doubtful and welcome. 1 : Nowadays most of the New Content is after the normal endgame and is high level stuff. Earlier versions had the NC at different stages in the game and was fun in its own way, but NC now is excellent. There is a couple of NC in the first part, one low level and one mid range. 2. I use summon with my cleric and there is a few bugs, usually they can't fight 2 fights in a row, they just stand still in the second fight, and if the caster i too far away it also just stand still (not sure if that is a bug or not.)
I'm playing 4 druid PCs right now (1 straight, 3 multi-class) and rely heavily on Animal Companions and Summoning. Once in a while I'll have some companions or summoned creatures just stand there -- but it is usually a line of sight thing, and temporary. Keep in mind that there are limits to the number of summoned creatures and total creatures/characters that the game engine can handle (check the forum stickies) -- and if you exceed those numbers then the 'extra' critters will juust stand there until an 'opening' takes place.
Thanks for replies guys. So i guess NC is better. 4 druids? How many summons you had at the same time? I had only 2 druids with 3 summoned Black Widow Spiders and 2 Bbears but the Bbears bugged... Previously i played the game without 8.0.1 patch. Now i installed 8.0.1 patch but when i run TFE-X (always as admin since i use Win 7), it still says 8.0.0 NC. Is this correct?....
Check the in game help icons- it should show which version of the game is running (and it should be 8.01). Also be aware that with druids and rangers, if you have more than 2 animal companions (not summons) and try to enter the elemental nodes, there is a very good chance your game will crash.
Now that you mention it -- my Brown Bear summons do stand around for a combat round before fighting . . . hmm. As for how many summons at the same time? Lots! Mostly Dire Wolves, though. I haven't had many problems at all this run through the game. Bug-free so far! I have kept the questing to a minimum, and have not used the console at all, and i do exit the game a lot and reboot to clear memory (playing about an hour a reboot). TFE-X will show 8.0.0 NC even after the patch is installed.
