    Hello,

First - Thanks! for providing such a huge mod/improvement to this game!

I'm a first time player and just started Yesterday, I read up on the Co8 Mod and followed the installation to the letter. The only thing I did do was make a complete copy and move it to another computer (I did this after completing the Co8 Mod installation).

I used the Co8 NC mod.

Everything seems fine, except with a brand new game as soon as I enter the game for the first time I start off in the Temple (in the first room I think). It took me a bit to confirm that this wasnt suppose to happen. I did apply the Co8 standard version and started a new game with it... it starts off in the correct location.

I really want to use the Co8 NC version though!

Any suggestions on what I should do?

I did read/search the forums and didn't spot this in the FAQ or known issues... and I did see that the NC saved games are incompatible with the standard version (I'm not trying to load from a saved game... this happens right at the beginning).

Thanks in advance for any help! I'm impressed with what you have and will donate... I do want to get at least 10-20 hours of playing in first though. :)

    Best Regards,
    Crusoe

    Welcome to Co8 Crusoe,

    I recommend re-activating the 7.60NC module again.

You can do this by first activating the Temple of Elemental Evil module by high lighting it and choosing activate, then choose the 7.60NC and activate it.

Thanks Sirchet, I can try that.

Are there any other things I could do if that fails? (reset a cache somewhere or anything? ...or could I simply 'travel' somehow to the right spot? I did notice that my global map had a few areas mapped out... not sure if that's normal in a new game or not).

Can I ask about your photobucket pics... what game are the pics of the Driders from? Dragon Age?

    Thanks,
    Crusoe

Two things come to mind: First, and least probably- are you in the Tutuorial? I believe that starts in a Temple, but you only have one character.

Second, and vastly more probable, did you start with a differently aligned group than you normally play?

The different group alignments do start in different areas, and I believe the CN group starts in a temple of sorts.

I usually play a NG game which start in an alley of Verbobonc, but sometimes play True N or CG which start in different areas, such as with the Elves.

    Hello Maalri,

I'm running a NG group. (When I did the Co8 standard, it did start in an alley).

However this is even before that point... in the standard mod you actually start in some type of 'store/room' where you can get equipment. When you exit that room you go to the alley (or whatever start scenario your alignment has.

When I first started with Co8 NC I had my full party, no armor/weapons, and was in the Temple... I went up a hallway and encountered a fairly large group of ghasts or ghouls.... it got ugly (for the characters) at that point. ;)

This is my first experience with the game... initially I wasn't even sure if the NC version followed the normal start plot/script. I didn't even know there was a tutorial. :)

    Thanks,
    Crusoe

Something is not right. If a reactivation doesn't fix it, I would try redownloading the modpack altogether and then re-reactivating.

The one rule about photobucket is we never talk about photobucket ... :p heh heh

Those pictures are from a NWN2 mod we were developing at the time.

If you're interested you can still get it on the Neverwinter Vault in the "Hall of Fame" section.

It's called Night Howls in Nestlehaven.

Thanks all - Gaear was right, once I reactivated back to NC it worked itself out.

I'm not sure what you're talking about Sirchet, I do see I had a typo that came out to be some strange 11 character word. ;)

I am a bit interested in NWN2, I did finish NWN1 and liked it... not sure I have enough free time though. It may depend on the next few days with ToEE to be honest... the Mod is awesome, but the interface is frustrating. I also keep searching for a way to rotate the camera...
If you had one choice... NWN2 with the best modules, or ToEE... what would you recommend? (Sorry - I degress from topic)

Anyway - Thanks all for your input on the issue I had.

NWN 2 was nice. Much better than NWN 1. But.... Once you really tasted the world of ToEE... You keep coming back. And thanks to the hard work of Co8 modders this game stays interresting.

The difference between the two games is ... they're two different games. ;)

Who said you can't have and play both, I do.

NWN2 is designed to incorporate player made adventures and there are many many many excellent ones to be had for free.

You can go the Neverwinter Nexus or the NWN2 Vault and pick out an adventure to play.

About the camera angles, there are three different modes to play in, try them all and see which one works for you.

The selector for these modes is just to the right of the text window in game.
