Even if I´m alone it´s always me, myself and I that make up the party. :roll:

 

I picked up the Thieves Tools from the Moathouse where the ambush is.

When returning to Hommlet the smith offers me 12 gold for my normal Thieves tools but 42 for my newly found Thieves tools.

So I thought they would be magic tools or something like that and had my spellcaster cast Identify on them - after that BOTH Thieves tools will be bought for only 12 gold...?

 

When you face the slavers you can choose to "Get right to the fighting" this will bypass the loss of one of your characters and shorten the dialog with her.

If you do take them on alone, please post how it turned out.

 

You can always add a character through the guest book at the end, have Jaroo kill and reincarnate you, then drop the new character through the guest book.

I tried what you suggested but it had the same effect, I think the game was a bit messed up.

I picked a fighter with a few levels of Rogue and that mixed up with a little bit of sorcerer. A human fighter because of the extra feats. I wielded Scather wich helped me a lot.

I also bought a few wands in Verbobonq for the higher levels of Spells I didn't reach with level up like stoneskin etc...

And of course the robes of midnight proved to be a pain in the ass for Hedrack, Falrinth etc... Because I was at such high level by the time I got to them, they did not have a chance. Getting behind them not knowing I was there... I'm such a badass :twisted:

 

I don't know if it's a coincidence but I did not experience a single CTD in my solo run. In the playthroughs before that, 2 or 3, I always had NPCs in the party and experienced a few CTD's... In one of them I used 7 PC's and Elmo and I had more than a few... Is that because of the 7 Pc's? Or is it Elmo? Or am I seeing things? :dizzy:

 

Mmm Elmo(the drunk version) and a spike chain don't mix very well do they? It's animated as if he hits with a hammer or something like that. Is that normal?

I have two minor bugs to report for 7.6 NC
For the record, this is a totally clean install from scratch ( I was having too many CTD's so I cleared the HD and reinstalled everything)
1.) For some reason my Rogue / Wizard cannot scribe a "Protection From Evil" scroll. Before you ask, he has enough GP, EXP and space to scribe the scroll ( he was able to scribe "Glitterdust" later which requires more GP and EXP with no problems ). MEH ... Must have been a one off glitch. Reloaded the save, had no problems scribing scrolls.
2.) The game doesn't seem to like having more than 2 Extraplanar Chests in one game. I thought it would be kind of nice to have one for the metal weapons and armor, one for the leather and wood stuff, and a third for whatever wouldn't fit in the first two. My 9th Level Wizard memorized and cast the spell and then things got interesting. At the time, the two chests the party had were at least partly filled. When I checked the contents of each chest, one of my two original chests had gone from full ( or nearly so ) to empty, and the "new" chest didn't materialize, instead I got a message saying that "The chest had been left at" (notice the message didn't say where the chest had been left at.).

What is the alignment of your rogue/wizard?

I believe you must be of good alignment to cast it.

 

I've done the slavers battle with 1 character. I made myself invisible, positioned myself behind my target and started swinging my sword. The battle was tough but it went all right thanks to the wand of stoneskin, potions of heal, a potion af greater heroism and off course scather. The only thing about this way, I get framed for murder... I chose the attack option and... Nothing happened, I could just walk out off the Guard barracks. Wilfrick does not congratulate you or anything.

The quarry fight on the other hand didn't go very well with one character. They kind of overwelm you pc... And got me killed before the next round... Well of to another game, with a big party this time!!! :yes:

 

I usually run with three extra-planar chests without a hitch. The wizard casting the spell didn't have one of the chests in inventory when he cast did he? That causes all kinds of problems.

 

Extraplanar Chests-
I love these things. Better than a bag of holding any day.

What I've found works:
Keep only one mini chest per PC inventory (I have -ALL- my PC's each get one as soon as I can afford it)
Summon and open only -one- chest at a time and then close and dismiss it before summoning and opening another PC's chest.
Leave a clear radial distance (around the PC summoning the chest) from anyone or anything before summoning a chest.
Never put in any crafted items (enchanted/enhanced weapons and armor, etc), or things with a charge (wand, staff, rod, Keotems (sp?) healing potion, etc).
Each chest only holds 120 items. You can put more than that in, but when you summon the chest again, all the excess items above 120 drop to the ground.

During the Black Jay´s Sheep quest I picked up all the hemlock in his backyard. However after completing the quest I still have 6 hemlock in my inventory.

Is there any later use in the game for those?
If not, shouldn´t Jaroo when spoken to about the hemlock, remove them from the player? He talks about weeding the fields from poisonous plants in his answers after all.

thinking slowly to myself (whirr whirr clank) why would Jaroo want the Hemlock, it's poisonous
