They're actually one of Gary Gygax's creations, right? I mean he brought them to DnD anyway.

But, Monstrous humanoids IS still good for them pesky ogres and giants and ettins, don't you think?

OK, OK ... I was ... wrong ... I did think bugbears were included.

 

Ogres, Giants and Ettins all fall under the Giant category of Favored Enemy

I believe the Monsterous Humanoids cover these creatures in ToEE (more in PnP of course)

Those are the ones found in game that come to mind off the top of my head there may be others.

 

I have come across another quest where having only one slot open causes a problem. It is the quest to capture the three jailbirds. I ended up killing two of them, but the third was no where to be found since I had to kill #2 without letting him join. Ah well, so I missed one:-}}

after the Moathouse respawn, you can go back into the Gnarly Woods (or whatever they're called) and if you follow a certain dialogue at battles end, you might get given a WIZARD only item that does not work for sorcerers, which is useless to you unless you have ol' Wizzo in your party. You can actually get it for free. I'm not sure if it can be crafted though, but I don't see why not.
Also two good npcs to pick up are Selena and Rianna, because they never want paying after you buy their freedom or just buy them if your evil. My party is level 10 just now and these two are both level 9. I made one a Sorcerer so I had 2 and the other a Bard, my first ever Bard. Next time I'll make the sorcerer into a Wizard so she can use the item.

 

Turns out I was able to get the third one anyhow. Some gnome told me where he was and then he showed up there.
