    Glad you like it.

dale, are you using 7.5? There were issues in that area with the night maps back in I think 7.3 ...

The dark houses was using 7.4.1. They were not dark the first time I went in, but it happened later -- and then they stayed dark.

I am now using 7.5 on a new game and have not yet gotten there.

This happened to me as well and it appears to happen only at night- waiting till daylight solved the problem for me.

I noticed quite a frustrating bug with the slavers quest in NC7.1. It's possible you found already a workaround for it in newer versions, if so - don't bother ;)

With my lvl 14 /lvl 15 party it constantly crashes to desktop whenever I dominated or charmed one of the slavers as soon as I try to round up the children after the fight. Also because as soon as the battle ends you automaticly get the "dialogue' for doing that, you don't get the time to get rid of the charmed/dominated slave trader.

I had to redo that fight several times because of that bug... and eventhough it's a very interesting one, that was just too bloody irritating.

    gremlich

What is this bug with the gremlich? I get word form the verb gaurds that this Hextor demon is after me. I follow the mystic advice and meet with the gypsy and with the gnome. I get a random encounter with nothing. Just an empty swamp or grass field.
    Is this fixable?
    Thanks

    Nyral,
the same thing for me. However, on the 3rd attempt it worked. I think it has to do with the number of people in your party, but more importantly, it seems that if when you first pop into verb after the fight the gaurd will dialogue with the nearest party member. If that member is enslaved or charmed is where I think the problem starts.

It is something I noticed as the game evolved with the additional mods. There are times when the lead PC is the primary dialogue no matter what distance to the NPC. And other times it is the nearest PC to NPC. ... OR it is just in my head. shrug... anyway, great work on the NC and looking forward to playing a new alignment. Thinking of giving the druid a try on this next round.
thanks for the hard work Gaear!

    Thanks. ^

The Gremlich experience is not a bug. Why do you think it is particularly?

I'm pretty sure the guard seeks out the party leader (like with most NC auto-dialogues).

Most vanilla auto-dialogues would just seek out the nearest party member. I think it's pretty obvious that party leader is preferable, as your spokesperson would generally handle that kind of duty, not Lurch the Barbarian. ;)

With the Gremlich. As I said, after I get the warning from the Verb gaurd about the Gremlich, I get random night encounters traveling the land. These are encounters that I can't decline/escape. There is no mob in these random encounters. Just empty fields with no mob/gremlich. I assume it is a gremlich encounter because this only happened after I get the warning and this has happened in the past but I cant remember which mod it first started with.
Look, no big deal. Just thought other people experienced this and there was maybe a fix OR not.

As to the other stuff with Non player characters and party characters, I either don't understand what you are saying or we will have to agree to disagree.
When you have a game NPC that has a dialogue that does not need you to initiate than the NPC will dialogue with the nearest character. That is what I experience with this game. The Gnome under the Castle is an example. He will start the conversation when you approach.

I was just speculating and from what I experienced with having an enslaved character is when you defeat the slavers you are teleported to the Verb building and the gaurd initiates the dialogue. I have seen this happen the split instance before the crash. I have seen the guard try and dialogue with the rogue slaver I enslaved and I have seen the gaurd try and dialogue with an Ogre I had enslaved. You can see the characters turn to face the gaurd right before the crash. On a reload, I ended up killing the rogue slaver before the end of the fight and didn't crash and I did the same with the ogre a few mods back and that stopped the crash.

When you get these encounters, do you see or hear anything?

The gnome and the guard do it differently though. The guard is scripted to talk to your party leader (left-most slot), while the gnome just gets whomever he detects first. (We should probably change that.)

Yeah, that could be as the captain there is not scripted to talk to the party leader. We should probably change that too, thanks.

(Probably silly) question about 7.5 Verbo: where the, uh, heck is Wilfrick? He ain't in his office in the palace! What in Erythnul's lair on the third layer of Pandemonium is going on here?! :p

Yeah, that's the odd thing - I checked during both day and night, then trekked over to what I remembered being his manor at night as well. No Wilfrick. I'll go re-check in a little bit.

It's always a little disorienting playing through a TOEE session after taking a few months' hiatus - the dev team is so busy here that things can shift around quite a bit!

In the version I have installed (7.1) resting or passing time until morning does not bring the expected person on screen, unless you exit & re-enter the place.
