You could always install a 2nd version of the game and then test the size of the toee.dll both vanilla and not. That way it would not screw up your current game.

Well hope you can/have made it past the moathouse and been able to move onto Nulb and the Temple.

Ahhh.. way ahead of you.. If I could have I would have.

The way the Anthology install it recognises whether or not it's presently installed, if it is then it doesn't let you change the original install path, it's greyed out.. so you can only reinstall OVER the existing install or, uninstall it and set a new path. It won't let you have two different installs.

EDIT.. Yeah, FINALLY cleared the Moathouse and got some goodies.. I think I'm a bit too high level to have fully appreciated the combat, but I'd rather that than it being frustrating.. On the subject of frustrating, cleared out Hickory branch only to be foiled at the sealed cave.. I can at least confirm my characters are in no way 'optimised', lol.

Off to Nulb next.. but the time has come to grab some snores.

you can also copy your save file information out of the directory to make you feel better. it will be restored when you backup though so it's not really a problem.

if you decide to make a manual backup you need to move it out of the module directory completely.

I cannot claim since i dont see any version updates to it, but if you are trying a retail patch on the digital download version, it may have such results. Note, that when you need patches or add-ons to original games, it is better to get them the same place you bought the original ones from. It is quite common that downloadable versions of games from most providers sometimes do not work with the official patches, or copies from other download providers due to the fact that the games are tailored for each specific provider. On the note about the sealed cave, was it the column that was keeping you away from the final battle, or just the waiting party behind it that was the trouble in Hickory Branch?

Oh, it was the battle alright.

I wasn't expecting such a well put together combat.. It's obvious it's a mod, you don't get stuff like this from retail products, if designers want something 'difficult' then imagination stops at ramping up damage. I just wasn't ready for it, I will be next time though, heh.

And that my friends is why playing TOEE like you have NO, NONE, ABSOLUTELY 0 knowledge of what comes next is the best way to play.

That's the problem with the world today ... not enough folks getting their butts handed to them on a regular basis.
