***Some spoilers*** Greetings all, I have played through the Temple 1-4 about half a dozen times so far. Generally, I play the same way. I use the robs to scout each level, placing note flags about what is where. After doing a few of the quests for each temple, I typically go on a spree and work my way down each level until I encounter Hedrack and Co. Then it is on to the Nodes... I was wondering if this is the approach that most people take. I join the temple only as a way on infiltrating each faction. Do you prefer to hack and slash your way through? Or do you leave the temple intact? I haven't played through the entire temple yet in v7 so I am looking forward to any new content. Otherwise, I find the labyrinth of tunnels pretty dull to fight through.
i most certainly try to maintain a balance between fireballing the hordes and leaving nice people intact to keep a certain level of roleplay. i mostly leave the air temple alive for example. though its my dream to play with a lawful evil party and do it all by the temple priests book. still no idea how im supposed to join with the greater temple and suddenly find myself in middle of a high level ground with my puny little low level characters
Usually I take out the temple level by level systematically. I just walk through level 1 first, killing everything room by room, and then go down to the floor below and repeat. In my past few saves, I've realized the temple bandit tower has that passage to the third level for fast access to Prince Thrommel, so I've been wiping out the third level first lately. The second level, especially with the NC making you too powerful for the temple, is much better when fighting the reactive temple groups, because they are much more challanging.
