This post is VERY interesting. The join date is Oct, 2011. This is the only post by that person. There is a lack of reference to anything in this thread. And there are NO links.

I have to admit that I don't recognise what's going on.

There was a link in Frankee's sig before, but her sweet concern for Scryler's lack of discomfort convinced me that she was the real deal. ;)

Quite a long time ago I wrote a post about the zombie squirrel I saw eating a bird. Well, I read something on Wikipedia I believe that grey squirrels do eat birds on occasion. When Her credibility is disputed...the Queen never forgets. Those who leap out of buildings wearing helmets would do well to remember that. :poke:

I've forgotten what smart ass remark I might have made at that time.

It would seem that it would be wise to keep an eye on squirrels that have developed a taste for flesh.

    Good morning!

I hope you had a good night and that the day goes well.

Spring is here in Florida, has been for awhile now.

Spring...a time for new beginnings. The earth changing, my life changing.

I watched the squirrels chase each other madly throughout the trees toward the end of our winter...one of their mating seasons. The birds have been arriving, the early ones...haven't seen the major migrating flocks of geese yet. And the grass is growing.

I don't recall if I've said so, but I got a little female green Anole lizard a few months ago. They are the ones typically called chameleons due to changing from green to brown, although they are not chameleons (those lizards imo are quite ugly). I've often written about them as they scamper around my porch.

So I've got one (Xena) in my house now and have been busy working on her tank, to make it livable for her type of lizard.

Actually, I have 2 lizards. I bought one at PetSmart a week or so ago. I thought it was a male, because it didn't flash it's neck flap and so did the salesclerks. It's bigger than Xena and supposedly captive bred, although I doubt it. Anoles are not profitable enough to be captive bred, so as far as I know they are all wild caught. As was Xena, right in my front yard (caught on his truck window by a visitor). Anyway, I put him in a small portable tank and Xena in another one, both tanks side by side so they could safely get used to each other. And he started flashing! He was named Gabriella, but is now known as Gabe.

Xena is back in her big tank even though I am yet again working on modifying it. She stopped eating when she was in the little tank. I don't know why exactly. I hope it wasn't due to the presence of Gabe. She's eating again, thank goodness. Unless Gabe stops eating (which he hasn't...he is a pig), he's staying in the little tank until Xena gains back her weight.

What do I feed them? Crickets. Very small crickets. .10 each. I could try and breed them, the crickets I mean, but I just can't see breeding something that closely resembles a roach.

I'm working now on building a fountain out of clay for the inside of the tank. I tried using self hardening clay but there is no reasonable way to waterproof that material (I asked the manufacturer) so I opened a box of real clay that I've had sitting around for a couple of years.

I have to lock the cats, Lexi and Zoey, in the other half of the house when I work on the clay as they want to help.

    So I've been busy.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

I'm around, lurking a lot. Just haven't felt much like writing.

I'm over the pneumonia, as far as I can tell. Still hacking up some really nasty stuff. I understand that will go on for awhile. :blegh:
