    Oh the HORROR!!

You may now want to move this thread back to the ToEE section Gaear, as it is about to become DnD related again.

Facebook has done a terribly evil and tempting thing, the Asmodeous that it is.

There is now a very good DnD game on Facebook, and yes it is free. So far, I don't even see any "buy more cool stuff with real money" parts in it, which is really awesome.

It is called "Heroes of Neverwinter" and it is loosely based on the Neverwinter DnD games and Realm.

It is a tad simplistic, but only a tad.

You definitely get the "feel" of DnD while playing it, at least.

So, if you have a Facebook (Beezlebub, I tell ya!) account, check it out!

Post your opinions of it below.

When I said a "tad simplistic" apparently I just didn't realize it was using DnD 4th Edition rules.

Having never played 4th Ed, personally, I didn't know.

One of the gamers in my group, who also plays this, told me it is 4th Ed.

    So, if anyone can confirm?

    I looked at the game.

    1. I've never played 4th Edition. Heroes of Neverwinter is 4th Edition.

    2. The load times are RIDICULOUSLY long. Each time you play.

    3. There are CONSTANT offers to let you spend real money. Usually when you don't have enough energy to play another mission. Also when your characters die in a mission. Another time is when you don't have enough cash to hire a full party. It's ALL about getting your money.

    4. There are 4 character races: Human, Halfling, Dragon and Eladrin(Elf). There are 4 classes: Fighter, Rogue, Wizard and Cleric.

    5. It's basically a 22 point build.

    6. In addition to wanting you to spend money in order to keep playing, there are plenty of opportunities to annoy your FB friends with this stuff that they don't want to be bothered with.

    7. On the positive side, the missions play almost exactly like Knights of the Chalice, except the graphics aren't nearly as wretched.

Conclusion: it's a Facebook Game.

    1. That's not much of a confirmation, but I'll take it :)

    2. My load times are rather fast, much faster than other FB games and, dare I say, it loads faster that Front End (But it sorely lacks the depth of course).

    3. Never noticed them, but then, I have been playing FB games so long that perhaps I tune them out automatically, I am sure you are right and they are there.

3a. I never died, nor have I ever run out of money, so no prompts there and there are not the annoying "Invite your friends" prompts that other FB games have, so far that I have noticed. I did notice prompts to post to your wall about victories and special treasures, but that is to your wall, not friends'.

    4. Yep, just 4 races and classes, you can mix them up a bit, and yes, the face and hair graphics are "a tad simple". Very few choices.

    5. Not bad on the Points, I will take 22 pts any day for this kind of game.

    6. Covered in 3.

    7. Never played it, but I am glad this one is better.

Conclusion: It is a FB game. BUT, it is a decent, fun, DnD FB Game! :)

    I'll second that.

I tried it just because you had mentioned how much fun it was.

Yup! I had fun, fought and conquered with my dragonborn and then ... died. heh heh

I'll probably play again, thanks for posting about it.

He was British, though he was born in the Orange Free State, in what is now South Africa.

Yea, GA, yea, go on, continue this way!

Rocktoy, now you see that even the most loyal supporter of a wrong world-view can be converted to the true faith? And now GA sees the light! Finally! :chick:

I was hoping YOU would continue this way. It's been boring around here.

I, honestly, am going to continue in my decadent, capitalist ways. ;)

    I still believe,
    That spark of light,
    We had just seen,
    Could grow strong
    Inside GA,
    And make him shine
    With good and grace!

Shouldn't that be with GOD and grace? Or, was I wrong to think that Russians were finally allowed to pray again? :poke:

Thank goodness that, by the Grace of God (oh, and Democracy), I can say this freely!!

But Russians were never NOT allowed to pray, actually, despite what you might have heard =D

EDIT, oh, I am wrong, the Saint Prince Vladimir actually prohibited Russians to pray to their old gods in favor of some new gods, and then prohibited to pray to those new gods in favor of Christian God.

EDIT, but that's not what you meant =D
