Sorry for the delay ... Hm, nothing having to do with anything in the mod should affect the function of magic missile. Can somebody else check it and see if it works? It's worked for me. It all has the ring of an improperly deployed module. Encumbrance is core mechanics stuff and shuldn't be affected by anything we do (unless we make stuff weigh too much). There would be no 'creep' as far as this goes. I'd try to roll up a different character and see if it works. You'll likely find down the line that your characters disappear (though their blue circles remain) when arriving at a new map like the ToEE. Thanks.
The bard J'allan UlDragos reporting in on the happenings of the CN party! Loaded up the new 7.0 BETA, and created my party. Gave 1 point of Lockpicking to the ranger to get past the treasure chest in the CN opening vignette. CG half elf ranger TN half orc barbarian CN gnome cleric of Obad-Hai (Plants/Earth domains) CE elf cleric of Nerull (Death/Trickery domains) For my henchman, I hired Furnok. Talked to very few people in Hommlet, as per Gaear's instructions to do Hommlet quests OR Welkwood Bog. *** the story so far *** 1. Defeated Mathel This was an admittedly hard fight for my small group of four at level one plus Furnok (party nearly wiped, computer had many lucky crits landing), so I reloaded a previous save and did enough random encounters (about 3) to put me at level 2 just before the fight with Mathel. What's funny, is that my Cleric of Obad-Hai then proceeded to blast him in her first action, turning BOTH undead to dust. :roll: Those random encounters in Mathel's treasure room were also kinda tough for the 1st level dudes. I fought two groups of Dire Rats, one of the enemy groups had 12 rats! :twitch: LOL Tackled a portion of the Moathouse as well so far... Mostly done, just Lareth basically to go. *** things I noticed *** 1. Neat little chest in the shopmap, assigns default gear. I believe that is new? 2. Right outside the inner front entrance to the Moathouse, in the courtyard where the "bandits" attack you there is something strange. In previous versions of the modpack there used to be a heavily trapped set of Thieves Tools sitting out in the open. These are apparently now gone, but in its place is a nifty DOOR just suspended in space. You can "open" and "close" it, but I have a feeling that is definitely not supposed to be there. Gaear, any ideas? 3. I had some odd hangs after leaving Burne's tower, and a slightly shorter hang leaving the traders. Just a black screen, music still playing, for a good 20 - 30 seconds or so... I think i've seen that before, in previous versions of the modpack. Current LEVELS: CG ranger 1/bard 2 TN barbarian 1/druid 2 CN cleric 3 CE cleric 2/necromancer 1 I only played for about 3 hours, hope to get much further with a few hours tomorrow.
I was wrong about Magic Missile - there was a bug in the spell script. Fixed file is attached, please just put it in data/scr. No need to restart. I'm looking into the door nonsense now. Yes the default gear chest is new. Does anybody else notice significant delays when arriving on the Hommlet map from any other map (worldmap or local)?
Progress and some things to note. The magic missile fix works. Thanks. I am also seeing the door in the moathouse courtyard. Basically I am using the group described above with Furnok. We did WWB and my 4 PCs went to level 2 when I turned in the quest in Hommlet. I did Delko Grove, then went to Moathouse. In the moathouse foyer (with the stairs down, and the door to fight the room of guards) I cannot use the door icon to go back to the outside courtyard. Also the door icon to go out the back way of the moathouse does not work. Right now I am stuck in the moathouse. Do you know the teleport code to get me out of here? Anyway, I killed the guards and lizard in the foyer level of the moathouse. Ignored all else. Went downstairs. Killed the zombies and oozes. Took secret door, killed ghouls. I then gained a level killing the crayfish. Also, I thought you said you moved the crayfish chest, but instead there were only two scrolls on the ground there. I also noted that you added potions in the ghouls lair. Regarding the map delay, the first time I went back to Hommlet it took a little longer to load. I was still on the world map. However, it was only 3-4 seconds longer than expected. Everything was fine once I was on the map.
I also am stuck in the Moathouse, on the same doors Ranth describes. Stairway icons work, but the door icons do not. Will continue to fight my way out, and hope the other exit near Lareth still works...!
If you mean the back door to the ambush, that is broken. Also, the secret door to the outside on the top level is also broken. The icons inside the moathouse work though (stairs up and down, the secret doors, ect). I should mention that my PCs turned 3 at the crayfish. I then cleared the gnolls and the bug bears and Furnok leveled there (whichever level is after 10k exp). I think I am too low to try Lareth so I want to get to town and maybe do some Emridy, but I need to break out of the moathouse.

I teleported back to Hommlet. Sorry if this isnt something you wanted me to do but I have limited playing time and wanted to get as far as possible. I went to Emridy Meadows and killed 3 or 4 groups of skeletons, got Terjon's amulet, and killed the giant. When I returned to Hommlet it was nighttime. I gave the giant's head to brother Smythe. What is also weird is that a 2nd brother Smythe appeared right after I gave him the head, but this time at the anvil. So there are two of him on my screen. I'll post a screen shot if you want. The new one sells me masterwork immediately. I will probably stop here since the main thing left is to kill Lareth. However I dont want to miss the ambush so I need the door icons to work first. I am on the verge of turning level 4. Just need a random encounter or something.
Yeah, feel free to teleport out of there (Hommlet's map 5001 though). No idea what's going on with the doors in the Moat. sigh.
Alright, I guess we will need to console around to make things work. As I mentioned, to open the console it is Shift + ` To get the the Hommlet inn, type type: game.fade_and_teleport(0,0,0,5007,487,488) To get to the back exit area where the ambush occurs dealing with Lareth, type: type: game.fade_and_teleport(0,0,0,5091,493,473) The icon in the ambush area works to get back into the moathouse. EDIT: Gaear I found another bug, but it is probably not 7.0 specific. In the Lareth fight, I greased an area. Then I put some of the guys to sleep. One of the 'greased' guys tried to wake up the sleeping guy, but the greased guy fell right after saying his line. This caused the game to think that the 'sleeping' guy was both awake and asleep, but with the same model. I killed the sleeping version on the floor, but the awake version took a turn (which timed out after 20 seconds each round). I could not target waking guy, I could just figure out who he was by hovering over his icon. Anyway, I couldnt attack awake guy, so the fight never ended, and I had to reload.
Game Update: I got my PC's to level 4. I killed Lareth. Looted and put armors in the extraplanar chest. Killed the spiders in the hallway. Then I rested, teleported outside, and dealt with the ambush. Sold Lareth's boots to the traders. Went to town, sold the armors, gems, and found out about Nulb from Terjon. Found out about HB from the town elder. Went to Nulb, did the mona story, bought a house, tried to get the contract to kill Lodriss but the guy wouldnt trust me. Otis opened up the temple. I also opened up the river map location for Grubs eye, though felt too low for that. Went to HB, did the first fight and felt a little too low so I rested and left. Travelled to Hommlet to sell and assassin attacked. Killed him after many powerword reloads. Furnok leveled from that fight and I gave him a level of rogue. He is now a dual wielder with a weapon focus in rapier and a venom dagger in offhand. I think that makes him level 6. When I got back I also opened the chest and got the arena book, though feel too low for that as well. I may try to clear the first floor of the temple until I get my PCs to level 5 before doing anymore HB, grubs eye, or the arena.

OK, I was not sure if we were still proceeding with these issues, but it looks like Gaear has given the go-ahead to use limited use of the console (in this case to get out of the "magically sealed" Moathouse....) Cool. I'll continue my progress then. Instead of consoling around, could i just GIVE one of my party members one of the Teleportation items? Boots or Helm? would that be acceptable Gaear? Please Advise.
No, don't do that ... I did fix the non-working doors issue though, so please extract this .rar archive to your modules/ToEE folder and overwrite all, then please go back there and make sure the doors work.
