I've downloaded the 5.5 version of CO8 mod -- but i am currently trapped on the fourth floor of the Temple. i entered the Main Temple via Zuggtomy's prison and when attempting to go down the main hallway after a successful fight with Hedrack can't get pass the odd electrical trap that i don't recall in the original game. i've tried disarming, talking to the light, resist elements, boosting saving throws, everything... is this a bug? or am i not thinking out of the box? thanks in advance, uriah
Hmmm... thats an nteresting situation. I've heard of people being trapped because they joined the Greater Temple (in which case they could legitimately expect to know the password) but not this. Speak to the light with your rogue - if he has a high 'Disarm' score, he can disarm it. Buff him before-hand with Cat's Grace etc if you like. If you have no such scoundrelly character, you can run past it in cmobat mode - hit 'c' and run characters past it. Thats a bit cheap but since you are trapped inside, not outside, I'd say its fair enough
Or, if your mage has a high enough level and knows the spell...teleport your party. Also there's a more costly solution, create "capes of the mountebank" for your whole party. Anyhow, the lightning trap has been there always, even in vanilla version.

No hope for your rogue to disarm the trap, so get the password from one of the trolls. You can use the console command game.fade_and_teleport(0,0,0,5080,478,470) and teleport past it and not trigger the big fight. The trap is a Livonya invention from few years ago. It's not in the original game.
You can get the password from the trolls? I get the dialoge saying "we want information on the temple" or something. What skill do you need then; intemidate for the tourture or just gather information?
My Fighting five party killed the trolls even before they had a chance to start a dialogue. two paladins, a fighter a barbarian and and a ranger kill critters pretty fast but now my ranger with disarm traps can't disarm the control box. bummer.
Open the roll screen and see how far off you are from suceeding. Sometimes a simple 0 level spell-Guidance(+1 to skill check), will put you over the top. Disable Devise is INT dependent, so Fox's Cunning(+4 INT=+2 to skill) can help, or if your paladins are high enough in level-Prayer(+2 to skill) can help. Or if you have any +INT magic items, pass them to the ranger.
I ended up cheating to get past it by entering combat mode and moving through it. When I opened the rolls screen it was blank, which I thought was weird.
