The Ranger spell Delay Poisen doesn't work lately. I can cast it, but the icon doesn't appear over the character profile, and it doesn't take effect. I've played nearly every version (beginning with 3.0) and it used to work. I've now upgraded to 6.1. The last time it worked was prior to 5.0, or thereabouts. Also the Ranger spell Spike Stones, in 6.1, often causes the game to crash. I haven't checked if these spells work with druid or cleric class. Otherwise, thank you for all the mods and upgrades that rescued ToEE and make it great fun, especially for an old PnP gamer who loved this module.
The druid spells of spike growth and spike stones repeatedly cause my game to crash, usually after two or more creatures in a row run through them and take damage. I have stopped using the spells because of this and because of the nails-on-chalkboard sounds the spell makes.
I've not had any of the crash issues, but these spells are so much louder that any other audio effect in the game. It scares my dogs when I play the game.
We can fix that. (It happens with some multiple target spells - the sound effect gets played x the number of targets = LOUD.) Any others that stand out?
Well for me when an undead priest cast desecrate I experience a MUCH louder sound effect than from other spells. I have seen it happen it all of the last versions of NC.
Well when the fix can be impemented (maybe 6.2?) I will not cringe when I am playing late at night when the sound effects blast at the wrong times. Thanks Gaear ahead of time for working on this.
Searing light might be bugged. It's suppose to deal 1d8 per 2 levels damage to non-undead and 1d6/level to undeads. Instead, when used against undeads, it gives 1d6 per 2 level. So it's actually worse against undeads. Also, invisibility sphere doesn't work like the PnP version. It's suppose to be like an invisibility aura that centers on a character, but instead it's a fixed zone that doesn't move.
Spike growth and spike stones are really great spells but crash my game to... If it gets fixed in 6.2, will i be able to use my savegames from 6.1 ? Or is there any workaround to make those spells working ?
I have yet to see a new version of the Mods work with the saved games of the prior versions. But HEY! It gives you a reason to play and enjoy it all again!
Im not someone who plays a game twice, although ToEE is great with the Co8 Mod... So i will just stop using this spell, looked like cheating anyway.
