I spent almost all of my money on starting equipment and was wandering around the starting town as a gaggle of poor adventurers when I walked into the jewelry store. I'd been making it a habit to pick pocket people but so far had mostly been coming up with crappy weapons and the occasional couple of coppers. Well long story short after I was done with this guy I went from around 10 platinum and 40 gold to this: ... Yeah that doesn't seem right. Is this working as intended? Are there any other rich idiots with poor spot checks I can prey on?
I have encountered this myself in past versions of the co8 mods and vanilla. I admit it can be cheesy to keep repeatedly stealing and selling the same item back to the guy. Must have a big negative to his spot and common sense to never catch on. It will always depend on the score of your pick pockets and their spot, as well as luck of the dice. Be careful as they will attack you once they do sense the attempt and you may get the butcher of Homlett rep before you even start the game. Then you either have to do a Power Word Reload or tuff it out.
