Yup. Many rings of invisibility easily available, as well as the robes of midnight. Great for scouting.
I usually use it to sneak my wizard/sorcerer in for the first-cast of cone of cold. Have to constantly resist the temptation to abuse Holy Word on an invisible cleric.

Speaking of Holy Word, is it going to get reworked, or should we just avoid using it? It can clear at least 4 or 5 slavers, what with its massive aoe and its 1.6k+ dmg.

Charm Person works wonders on the Slavers. Fighters/Rogues have pretty weak will saves. It can even help you to split up the exp allotment, letting you gain even more exp overall. Lol.

Will there be more content for evil parties in the future? Going through with an evil party, its too bad that my unholy weapons never can do extra damage against anything. I'd like to have more good and lawful enemies to fight/quests, so I could get some of my bonuses or spells to use against them be useable, and general roleplaying.

We've already added quite a bit of evil content - all the Scarlet Brotherhood stuff, the Hextorites, etc. And Verbobonc is not really limited by alignment anyway.

Do you mean specifically good enemies? There are a few of those as well, but they can be limiting. Good can kill evil, and evil can kill evil, and evil can kill good, but good can't kill good. That makes a more workable choice of enemies trend toward evil.

I've been having trouble running the mod using Mcafee AV.

It keeps deleting the Toee.exe, but lets me restore it whereupon if i click on the program file or try to run the mod it promptly deletes it again. The big issue for me right now is that i know i can put files and programs into the trusted category but for some reason it won't allow me to do it for the mod.

Mcafee nailed Gamespy as a trojan but allowed me to trust the program..so why not with the Circle of Eight Mod?

I'm just really frustrated at the moment as i spent a whole day trying out different things to get it to run.I can install the mod without turning off my AV but activating it is what causes problems. Is there something i'm missing?

McAfee is junk and malware itself. Get rid of it and get AVG. AVG is free for the first year and is way number one for anti-virus.

Unfortunately we can't answer questions on behalf of McAfee. As george said, AVG doesn't have any issues with ToEE. Also you can get the free version and never pay.

If you killed kenter nevets for gremags assassin quest can you still get to hickory branch and the other new content? I killed him awhile back and forgot about him, but now smyth wants me to talk to him and i'm not sure what to do as i dont have any saves that far back... Is there a solution for this?

Hm, that would technically stop you in your tracks, albeit unintentionally.

To create the conditions artificially, do the following:

    1. Open the game console by pressing shift and tilde (~).
    2. Type game.areas[9] = 1 and press enter.
    3. Type game.global_vars[971] = 2 and press enter.
    4. Close the console by pressing shift and tilde (~).
That will put Hickory Branch on your world map and make it so Brother Smyth thinks you talked to Nevets.

I personally would love to see more "Good Natured" content available in Verbobonc.
I play a good aligned party almost all the time and I sometimes feel like I'm missing out.

I've tried soooo many times to run an evil party, but as soon as the novelty wears off it stops being fun. Nuetral/Chaotic-Good usually feels comfortable for me.

And yes, once again I'm wanting this fantastic creation to be tailored to MY tastes.

I've had three saves now and every time, after clearing the moathouse first time, when I have Lareths diary and I try to read it to get nulb on the map, it never can open. I tried having my rogues using it to unlock/inspect for traps but every single time it says it's too advanced for me and nothing happens. This keeps forcing me to talk to Bro Smith asking where nulb is. Even though the diary isnt needed to advance, it provides storyline flavour when reading. Could it be made easier to open?

I found that for lower level parties (havent tested on harder fights yet), that the spell Color Spray is pretty helpful. If it knocks the opponent unconscious, you get an easy kill with Coup De grace, and I've been saved a time or two because of this. The stun or blind effect's are useful as well if it doesnt knock the enemy unconscious.

What version of the mod are you playing?

I'm running 6.1.0NC and there is no longer a trap on Lareth's Diary, or even a lock.

I just went through with a new party earlier today.

Oh alright. I have 6.0 still, lazy updater. Good to hear it was fixed.

edit: When was the mini extraplanar chest added to a zombie's inventory in the moathouse? When I found that, I've picked it up every new game since and using it after a while seems a bit cheap. There is a spell meant for it but the spell is never even noticed since I can just get the mini chest almost near the start of the game. And it makes the possibility of using chests to store items in my nulb house or castle of lords less likely, less fun and effort. (I remember playing before the Co8 mod and I'd always buy the house in nulb and establish it as my main base of operations, but now I havent gone to it for a long time)

so just wondering if the chest should stay. its a bit too much for the early game that you find it

If you don't buy the house in Nulb, you won't get the ambush.

I love the extraplanar chest. It removes a lot of toil and dreary trips to collect loot you couldn't carry the first time, and which I find you need (to sell for cash) in the early parts of the game. It doesn't make your party stronger, just helps you with the boring stuff.

Bags of holding are an iconic part of D&D, so the EPC takes the place of the bag. These type items are available in many other D&D CRPGs. I can remember having a dozen of them in Neverwinter Nights.

And if it seems a little too much too early, you can always just not loot the ghoul. ;)
