Just wana ask if theres a way that NPC attributes will show up once you go to the inventory screen? Im trying to place/fit equipments to my NPC and im not sure what are their new attributes (Im not really sure since i dont usually record them when they level up and thats the only way that i could see their actual attributes) Any suggestions guys? :twitch:
You can only see them at 4th, 8th, 13th level when you level them up and they can add a point to their ability scores. Now you can discern what they have by looking at their skill levels and see what the modifiers are for each skill.
Print screen at level ups? I believe most of the NPC's have their attributes listed in Gazra's walkthrough, here: http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8742
Thanks for the advise, but it will be too troublesome checking the attributes while playing in game. I dont have any idea why the original creators hid the stats of NPC in your party. They should had made it visible since they are part of your party.... Its just that i get lost when equiping them with appropriate items....dont know what will be their new attributes after....since i also dont really remember which attribute i increased during the previous level ups...guess i just have to write it down somewhere so i can mark each NPC individual attributes... ohh well...
This may be some work for you, but you can console a levelup for the group and see what the stats are earlier for the NPC's and then have then noted somewhere. Or you can do a search and see if there is another thread that has all the stats already listed for each of the NPC's. I do not use them myself, so can not help you there.
Ok...So...may i suggest the great modders of Co8 be able to make the NPC stats visible so we can easily determine which equipments we put on them....and wat class will we level up ...what do ya think? in the next release i hope (cross-fingers)...
I would be surprised if the modders spent any time on making npc stats easily viewable. Personally, I prefer that they are not visible, but that there are work arounds if you really want to see them. The whole point of NPCs is that they are NOT entirely under your control. They join you for their own reasons, and make their own decisions (to a very limited extent in TOEE, but still). I think they should even do their own leveling up. I think I saw mention that it was that way once. If we want to have a completely controllable NPC, we should start an extra PC. Mind you, I came to the computer game by having played the P&P version, so closer to standard D&D role-playing approach is my preference. I am in fact running my step-son and his friends through TOEE at the moment.
This function in ToEE is hardcoded, so it's not going to change. I think it shouldn't anyway, for the reasons florian1 outlined above. It was that way in vanilla, yes. We wanted to go back to that at one time, but sadly NPC leveling is one of the things that was most poorly done in vanilla ToEE (alongside NPC looting). It was basically unworkable in any practical sense.
Well, guess its a dead end even if i wanted to make the NPC stats visible as Gaear stated its hard coded in TOEE engine....well, this ends here...thanks!
