Hi, all - newbie here. I'm using the latest Co8 modpack for TOEE (just downloaded it Saturday). Now I have a problem... I used the "cheats.all_spells_by_class" command on the console. My sorceress has no problem, but my cleric and wizardess won't memorize any spells - even if they rest in a safe place for DAYS! Is there any way to "force" them to memorize spells? The cheat code put all the spells into the "known spells" list, so THAT much worked, and it's only those two characters that seem to have a problem. Also, what are the item codes for Fragarach, Scather, and Excalibur?
You know you can't level up wizards and sorcerers with that cheat, it will not let you past the learn new spell tab.
But its a fair comment/question, your not playing the game as desiged or intended, so why help you, deprive yourself of the intended game experience?.
Look, bub, I joined this forum to get some technical help. If the cheats and console commands aren't supposed to be used, why were they allowed to be posted in the first place? If all I'm going to get are snarky comments and not the help I requested, I may as well quit the forum.
Odd no one wanted to help you cheat yourself neh?, by abusing the game tools. That choice of yours, works for me, very nicely.
Let's be nice, people. @RKnack, there is no way that I know of to force PCs to memorize spells after using that cheat. Also, I don't know the proto numbers for the items you want off-hand, but I can post them later.
Thank you. At least SOMEONE was willing to give a straight answer. I went back to one of my older saved games, and found something odd. My wizard was the only character that did not have all spells memorized. When I tried the cheat, my cleric LOST all memorized spells and wouldn't re-memorize them, my wizard GAINED all spells, and my sorceror was unaffected. Rather odd sort of bug...
Here are the console commands/protos: Code: give 4016 give 4017 give 4025 That will put scather, fragarach, and excalibur in the selected character's inventory.
All the item #s are located in data\rules\description.mes It was originally in-game for testing purposes IIRC, was never available in vanilla. Old Co8 (4.0? not sure) gave you a chance to buy it but it was removed later along with other things. There's actually tons of unimplemented items in the game, I'm assuming most of them left over from old mod versions, or WIP now. The ones I've seen are ridiculously overpowered for the game as is though. Not really a "bug" since you ARE using the console... And cheats usually tend to behave in unpredictable ways. (Though frankly, I never even knew TOEE had cheat commands.)
You want technical help? Cheats and console commands are usually added in games to TEST things. There, some technical help, or some knowledge, whatever you wanna call it... I are smartz!! Yaaay! lol
