I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Wow! 30,000 views. Amazing. I feel like I should write something spectacular to warrant that...but nothing comes to mind that I feel is worthy enough. A big thank you to everyone who thinks what I write is worth reading. Maybe most are looking to see if I finally wrote something worth reading... On our driveway at work, the bunny hopped across in front of my car. I'm sure it's the same one. I don't know why I think so, since it seems like if you have one bunny you'd have several. I've never seen a single fox though. Not here at any rate. Before they cut down all the trees to clear lots for new homes where I live, I saw bunnies frequently and a fox once. A red fox. This bunny is lucky...it's avoided becoming dinner for the great horned owl that also lives in the area. I thought bunnies were day creatures, so what's with that? Why is this bunny hopping around at night? I was outside earlier and something flew past my head, fast enough so I couldn't really see what it was. It seemed about the size of a bat, but I think it's too cold for bats to be flying around. And while I've seen moths here that big, I think it's too cold for them, too. So I wonder what it was? There is supposed to be another meteor shower tonight, close to dawn. The Leonid meteors. I'll be here around that time, but the shower will not be prolific and I can't stand around outside that long, so I won't see it. And Harry Potter opens at midnight tonight. Opened. I've never gone to a midnight opening of a popular movie. Some day, I will (or night) just to experience it. To all who sleep tonight (and aren't watching Harry Potter) on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Ask the Lady to guide your dreams tonight while you are sleeping. And ask Her to guide your thoughts tomorrow when you wake up. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
Spectacular is gone in a few minutes. You've been steadily interesting. The things you wonder about are things we should all ponder occasionally. Your issues are variations on our issues.
I thought several of your poems were outstanding, unfortunatley I never copied them and your thread is too long for me to trawl through. I saw an exhibition at the British Museum today on the Book of the Dead and the Book of Breath if anyone gets a chance make sure you take it. There is so much to take in I've got to go back again.
Seconded, definitely. You, O queen, are truly the most popular thread on this site and most deservedly so. And you been the only constantly long term member we've ever had, how cool is that? Now, about those cat pics....
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. Friday night, almost a full moon. Very quiet outside. No clunking and banging from the dumpster, no bunny on the road, no stray cat disappearing into the bushes, no dogs running around. Inside, no calls (so far). Thanks for the nice comments on my writing. Lexi does not like me going to work. She just sort of stands there and watches me go out the door (fast, so she doesn't try to get out) and rips around the house like a maniac when I come home. Must get boring, I guess. Alex is being very passive/aggressive. Either that or he doesn't feel good. While he doesn't make any obvious moves toward Lexi, he makes his presence known by being everywhere I am, his eyes on Lexi unless he is asleep. Nothing really to write about tonight. I think it's going to be a long night, since I've done everything I can already here at work. Who was it that asked for peace anyway? To all who sleep tonight on this side of the bright earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep is a marvelous thing; the hours fly by once you obtain it, yet your dreams seem to last ages. Wake up and see how slowly sleep leaves...how fast dreams melt away. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
Maybe, just maybe, Scryler, you should copy all this thread... You know, just in case some server out there burns out...
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Full moon tonight. I just happened to glance at our cam screen and saw something undulating across the ground on one of the screens. It was an animal of some kind, but I was unable to tell exactly what it was. I think it was a member of the weasel family, judging from the way it was moving, but it seemed too large for a weasel. I'm getting nowhere with googling it. If we have weasels in the area, I wish the bunny good luck. What a dangerous place to live...great horned owls in the trees above and weasels on the ground. I am glad weasels are smaller than I am. (Along with chickens.) Somewhere I read that once they start tracking their prey, they never quit. They hunt by scent. And of course, they are blood drinkers. Alex does not feel well. He is going to the vet Monday. Lexi was sleeping on my hand when I woke up this afternoon. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the bright earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep hard, dream deep. Wake up and enjoy living. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Slept almost all day today. I almost always do after the last night I work. So I have very little to say. I made some cold coffee that almost tastes like Starbuck's frappuccino coffee. Without even trying to. I normally don't use sugar in my coffee, but I did this time and it was strong coffee with lots of milk. So now I can save some money. I normally stop at the store on the way to work and buy a bottle of it. Lexi went through her usual snit when I came home from work, but then wound up sleeping a lot while I was. She likes to sleep at the top of the bed, on the other side of the pillow. And likes me to be touching her when she sleeps. So trying to get to my hand generally wakes me up enough to know she's there. Alex is doing a little better. And that's it for me. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the still bright earth, Sleep is healthy. Being awake is healthy too. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Long day today, but I got nothing of any account done. I had an interesting dream that will remain a secret. Half a verse written, that's all. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep and sleep warm. Wake up in the light instead of at night. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Trying to post a pic of Lexi, we'll see how it goes. Alex is better, eating more, more alert and interested in things, but still not back to his old self. No pics of him tonight. Lexi is now afraid of my feet. I tripped over her, luckily didn't hurt her (or me), and she now dashes away when I walk by her. I hope you remembers that feet need room, but I also hope she stops running from them. Long day, lots of ups and down, a mini capsule of how things go generally in a week's time. Thanksgiving coming up and I have the day off. Nice. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the still quite bright earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep oblivious if that's your wont, but wake up the next morning and be glad you do. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night!
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. I ran over poor Lexi's tail today with my computer chair. Lexi has had a tough couple of days, I think. I tripped over her and now ran over her tail. She forgave me. Alex is better. He's eating more each time he eats. I'm cooking a turkey tomorrow. And most of what goes with it. I have the day off. I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving, has a great day, lots of food, good friends or family to share it with. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Take thoughts of love and warmth with you to bed tonight and curl up in your dreams. Wake up to a day of gratitude. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night!
