I hope you had a good day and the night went well. I did my Tarot tonight, the short layout, 1 card each for past, present and future. It basically said I am undergoing a transformation and will struggle with a change in values. My sardonic side says all this is related to sleep. Ha ha. The raccoon(s) are busy in the dumpster and the armadillo that searches all night among all the bark mulch (dandy place for roaches/palmetto bugs to hide, but discourages snakes) for its food is busy rooting away. Other than that, not much is going on. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the still bright earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep for at least 6 hours at a time, preferably 8. You'll feel better when you wake up. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Almost morning again. A very quiet night. No calls, no commotion, no animals trapped in the dumpster. Nothing but an errant fly buzzing around in the office. There was an unusual amount of traffic on the road to work though, for a Sunday night. To all who sleep tonight (or were) on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep away your woes and cares, lose them in slumber. Wake up and find meaning in the day. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night. Or G'Morning.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. I was outside retrieving the garbage can and I got a text message. The sun was shining on the cell window and I couldn't see what I was typing, so I was turning the cell this way and that when I realized I had one foot on an ant hill. We have nasty fire ants here in Florida. So now my ankle is swollen up. I guess I looked pretty funny, hopping around trying to get the ants off. Fire ants originated, I think, from South America. They are slowly making their way north, as they adapt to colder climes. Or maybe because the environment is warming up. I told someone that armadillos carry leprosy. They were a bit skeptical, so I googled it. Sure enough, they do. Some interesting facts about that. Seems like you can't just 'grow' leprosy bacteria in a lab, so a lab was looking for some creatures to use and decided upon armadillos. Their body temperatures are low and the bacteria needs a low temperature to grow, which is why people get leprosy on their extremities (fingers, nose, etc) first...extremities are cooler than the rest of the body. So they gathered up these armadillos and found out they already had leprosy. People eat armadillos. If they aren't cooked thoroughly, you can get leprosy from armadillo flesh. Yuck from me on eating armadillos to begin with. The good news is that 95% of people are immune to leprosy and only about 5% of armadillos have it. 'Course there are a lot of armadillos around. Millions of them. Armadillos seem to me to be very prehistoric. I have no idea if that's true. But maybe that's really why the dinosaurs disappeared. They all got leprosy from eating raw armadillo ancestors. See where working an extra night shift takes your mind? To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Don't eat armadillos for a late night snack, and try not to dream of wolves... Wake up when you've gotten enough sleep. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
Sand Rising, the sun's rays burnish the cliff that stands, towers over a wide bed of devolute sand. Once, there was a lake there, begat by a spring of water rooted deep at the foot of the cliff. Clear, pure, the water sang, welling up, flowing out and into the bowl of hungry empty land. Where did the lake go? Did the hot dry sun drink the water away? Did the west wind scatter it as a form of play? Where did the lake go? Only the sere sand knows.
I hope you had a good day and night, and that this day goes well. Late again. Sighs. The birds were singing this morning, waking up my ears while I sipped coffee on the porch. No one has much of a life on night shift, seems like. Even getting to the house work is a bit difficult. To all who are awake today, on this side of the earth, A Morning Mission: Wake up to the sound of birds singing and let their music start the day off. May the Lady smile on me, and you too... G'Morning.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Well, I got in here a little earlier. Good for me. I went shopping today and had the usual shaking of the head experience at all the idiot drivers. One driver thought a 45mph zone meant 35mph and braked at every single green light, of which there were several. At first I thought he or she (never did see the driver that well) was looking for a specific street, but...no...that was just the way he or she drove. That was just one driver. Then there were the drivers that are all over the road. You can't tell if they are texting or drunk. I've done that a couple of times myself, but never in main street traffic. And not often on the back road I travel and know by heart. I do understand the texter/drunks, but I don't understand braking at every green light. But that was behind me, eventually. I got some black out curtains that I am going to cut up into curtains for my bedroom windows. Currently have all kinds of weird things over them trying to block out the light. I don't want to go the aluminum foil route, unless I absolutely have to. And I ate at a place that sells hispanic food, put together like at a sub shop. Well known chain, but using names here might not be desirable, so I won't. I tried something new, and it was really good. And I am falling asleep so I'd better end this. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep when you are weary; let the body make that decision. Wake up when it says to. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Overcast all day, but no rain. The dregs left from the big midwest storm lost all its water by the time it got to us here in Florida. That storm set records for the lowest barometric pressure ever recorded inland. The pressure reading was the equivalent of a hurricane 3. In some areas, I think the wind generated by the storm reached the upper levels of a tropical storm. Sustained winds. That's pretty amazing. We have had almost no real storm activity at all this season. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep warm and windless (heh). Wake up dry. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
So, what did you try? I just recently got turned on to lengua (tongue) tacos and nopales y heuvos (cactus and egg) sopes.
Don't remember the name, too tired right now to think. Sounds like you go to restaurants way beyond my means.
I hope you had a good day yesterday and the night went well. Late again...not my fault this time. Work was so busy I had to stay late just to finish the paperwork. Phones ringing off the hook. One fun thing. Our driveway splits in two, one way in, one way out. I got to inform a law enforcement officer that he came in the wrong way, but I wouldn't give him a ticket. lol. He was suitably sheepish. Don't get to do that every day. Or night. Mama Raccoon and family tore up the dumpster contents again. No one got left behind. This morning a stray cat was investigating the remains. Popular place, our dumpster. To all who are awake this morning on this side of the earth, Good Morning!! May the Lady smile on me and you too.
Actually no. The local taqueria is where we go. Extremely affordable, family-style, fare. The 3 of us eat well for under $30. I(we) save the expensive places for when it's just the two of us. And when budget allows. Our just recent anniversary, for example.
We had a place with prices similar to that and food that isn't normally found on most of the Latin/Mexican restaurants around here, but they went out of business. Bad location, no A/C. The food was good.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Congratulations to Ted and his wife! Welcome to the world, Brandon! Nothing much going on at work tonight. Can't even hear if Mama Rocky and her family are rampaging in the dumpster. I guess it's making up for last night. That's fine by me! EDIT: almost forgot: Happy Halloween everyone! To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep. Wake up. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. Happy Halloween everyone. (Twice today!) To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep well and hope all the ghosts and goblins don't bring you nightmares. Wake up and try not to dig into that bowl/bag of candy. May the Lady smile on me and you too. G'Night.
I hope yesterday went well and also last night. I was out and about for the afternoon yesterday and ate a late lunch with a friend. We went to a restaurant where you pick out the meal ingredients, putting them in a bowl and then the cooks put the food on a large round table of sorts, cook it and the server brings it where you are sitting. Since it was our first time there, we didn't know enough to really smash everything down in the bowl like most others did...but we will next time! It was good. When I got home, there were two fire trucks a couple of houses away wrapping up a fire in the woods behind our little subdivision. We're surrounded by dense semi-tropical woods on 2 sides, with scattered trees on the other 2 sides, so a fire in the woods, as dry as it is, is scary. But it was a beautiful day out. Not too hot and breezy. Out West, spring is my favorite time of year, but I'm thinking fall might be the best here in the South. Then I went to take a nap and slept all night. I guess I'm going to give up trying to keep a work schedule all week. Just sleep whenever. To all who slept last night and are awake this morning on this side of the earth, Good Morning! May the Lady smile on me and you too.
